Marco Bezzecchi won the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix on Sunday, October 11, leading an unprecedented Aprilia sweep of the first four positions at Mandalika. Jorge Martín’s third-place finish also returned him to the top of the MotoGP standings, two points ahead of Marc Márquez.

  • Bezzecchi completed the 27-lap race in 40 minutes, 46.582 seconds.
  • Raúl Fernández finished 4.260 seconds behind despite riding with two broken fingers.
  • Martín took third and Ai Ogura fourth, giving Aprilia its first MotoGP 1-2-3-4.
  • Martín now leads Márquez 355 points to 353 with five rounds remaining.

Bezzecchi waits, then strikes

Pole sitter Fernández led after the opening corner and controlled most of the race, with Bezzecchi close behind. The pair quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field while Martín worked forward from sixth on the grid.

According to the official MotoGP race report, Bezzecchi set the fastest lap as he closed on Fernández, then made the decisive pass on lap 19 of 27. Fernández ran slightly wide at Turn 1 after the move, allowing Bezzecchi to build an immediate gap. Bezzecchi ultimately won by 4.260 seconds for his first Grand Prix victory since Mugello.

The result also marked the 300th premier-class victory for an Italian rider. That is a historical milestone rather than a manufacturer total: Bezzecchi was riding an Aprilia RS-GP, and Aprilia supplied all four motorcycles at the front of the finishing order.

Fernández rides through injury

Fernández’s second place was especially notable because the Trackhouse rider had fractured two fingers in Saturday’s Sprint crash. He said after the race that one of the injured fingers was normally used for braking, forcing him and the team to adapt his approach before Sunday’s start.

His pace was strong enough to lead through lap 18 and still hold second at the flag. The official MotoGP classification lists Fernández 4.260 seconds behind Bezzecchi, with Martín another 2.630 seconds back.

Aprilia fills the top four

Martín passed Márquez for third on lap three and settled into a clear podium position. Behind him, the race developed into a shifting fight among Márquez, Pedro Acosta and Ogura. Ogura passed Márquez on lap 21 and later got ahead of Acosta, resisting a final challenge to secure fourth by roughly a tenth of a second.

It was Aprilia’s first top-four lockout in MotoGP. The factory team placed Bezzecchi and Martín first and third, while satellite partner Trackhouse supplied Fernández and Ogura in second and fourth. The result turned a difficult Saturday—when Fernández and Bezzecchi collided at the first corner of the Sprint—into a landmark Sunday for the Noale manufacturer.

Martín retakes the championship lead

Martín’s 16 points moved him to 355, while Márquez’s sixth place left the Ducati rider on 353. The two title rivals each scored 22 points across the full Indonesian weekend: Márquez gained six points on Martín in the Sprint, then Martín recovered those six on Sunday after entering the weekend two points ahead.

Bezzecchi remains in the contest at 309 points, 46 behind Martín, with 185 points still available over the final five weekends. The immediate headline is the two-point gap between Martín and Márquez, but Bezzecchi’s Mandalika win prevents the championship from becoming a purely two-rider calculation.

How Sunday changed the Indonesian GP story

Saturday belonged to Márquez, who won the Sprint and briefly took the points lead. Read our earlier report: Marc Márquez wins the Indonesia Sprint. Sunday reversed that order without erasing Márquez’s damage-limitation work: sixth was his first full-distance finish at Mandalika.

The weekend also produced a championship result in the junior class. Máximo Quiles clinched the 2026 Moto3 title with victory earlier on Sunday.
