BMW’s Autumn Updates Add Black Package Options and New Powertrains

BMW’s autumn 2026 update brings new equipment and powertrain choices across several model lines. Its September 30 announcement includes a Black Package for selected M Performance versions of the 2 Series Coupé, 4 Series Coupé and 4 Series Convertible.
BMW says the package requires M Sport package Pro. The changes include carbon interior details and dark exterior badging, with wheel specifications varying by model.
More than a styling update
The release also outlines new 7 Series and X5 variants and an output increase for the X3 M50 xDrive. BMW lists the updated X3 at 326 kW, or 443 hp using the release’s measurement convention.
Check the market before ordering
The announcement discusses German-market launches and uses WLTP figures. It should not be treated as confirmation that every configuration, power figure or option is available in the United States. Shoppers should compare their local configurator and the actual order sheet.
Our takeaway: distinguish a cosmetic package from a mechanical change, and verify which equipment is included rather than assuming all vehicles with similar badges have the same specification.
