BMW Sets Three-Car M4 GT3 EVO Lineup for Macau

BMW M Motorsport will enter three BMW M4 GT3 EVO race cars in the 2026 FIA GT World Cup on Macau’s Guia Circuit, with Team WRT and Team KRC dividing the entries. BMW confirmed the program on October 13 ahead of the November 21-22 event.
The driver lineup combines two former Macau winners with Kelvin van der Linde, who is returning to the street circuit for the first time since 2019 and making his Macau debut as a BMW works driver.
BMW’s 2026 Macau lineup
| Driver | Team | Macau background |
|---|---|---|
| Kelvin van der Linde | Team WRT | Second Macau appearance; first with BMW M Motorsport |
| Raffaele Marciello | Team WRT | Main-race winner in 2019 and 2023; runner-up in 2025 |
| Augusto Farfus | Team KRC | Winner in 2018; second in 2024 |
BMW has not yet shown the Shell-backed livery planned for van der Linde’s M4 GT3 EVO. The automaker says that design will be revealed later. The announcement confirms the teams, drivers, car model and event dates, but it does not guarantee a result on a circuit where qualifying position, traffic and interruptions can rapidly change the race.
A lineup built around Macau experience
Marciello brings the strongest recent record of the three. He won Macau’s main GT race in 2019 and 2023. In 2024, he won the qualification race but retired late in the main event while contesting the lead. He returned to finish second in 2025 and will drive one of Team WRT’s two entries this year.
Farfus gives Team KRC another proven Macau performer. The Brazilian won in 2018 and finished second in his most recent start in 2024. He sat out the 2025 edition and now returns to the same street venue with a BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
Van der Linde’s experience is different. His previous Macau race came seven years ago, before he joined this specific BMW works effort. BMW says he will carry Shell branding similar to his DTM program. Calling the outing his “Macau debut as a BMW works driver” does not mean he is new to the circuit; it describes his first appearance there in his current BMW role.
Why the Guia Circuit changes the equation
The FIA GT World Cup is staged on the Guia Circuit, a temporary course threaded through Macau’s streets. Its combination of fast sections, narrow barriers and limited passing opportunities puts a premium on precision and track position. BMW’s three-car entry increases the brand’s chances, but the separate Team WRT and Team KRC operations still have to execute independently.
BMW motorsport chief Andreas Roos presented Marciello and Farfus as established victory contenders and described van der Linde’s return as a major challenge. Those are the team’s expectations rather than an independent prediction. No track action has taken place, and Chiefs Review has not tested the cars.
The next step
The confirmed dates are November 21 and 22, 2026. BMW’s next public milestone will be the Shell livery reveal for van der Linde’s car, followed by the official FIA event schedule and entry documentation closer to race weekend.
The announcement adds another major international GT event to a busy late-season stretch. For related coverage, read our reports on Maxime Martin’s 2026 IGTC championship and Cadillac’s 2026 IMSA GTP title.
