FIAT Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback Make European Debut in Paris

FIAT has brought the Grizzly SUV and Grizzly Fastback to Europe for the first time at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The company’s October 12 announcement positions the pair as compact family vehicles with petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrains, but it does not yet provide complete battery, range, pricing or market-by-market specifications.
These are manufacturer-announced vehicles, not models Chiefs Review has driven. FIAT says UK orders are expected to open in early 2027, with customer cars arriving in summer 2027. Availability and timing in other markets may differ, and the company has not announced U.S. sales.
Two body styles built around the same family brief
The Grizzly uses a conventional SUV body, while the Grizzly Fastback trades some of that upright shape for a more swept-back profile. Both are under 4.5 meters long and are intended for more than 100 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
FIAT quotes 545 liters of luggage capacity for the Grizzly and 608 liters for the Fastback. The company describes the latter as the largest boot in its category among vehicles shorter than 4.5 meters. FIAT also lists 3.5 cubic meters of total interior space, though that figure should not be confused with usable cargo capacity behind the seats.
At Paris, both vehicles are displayed in La Prima trim with a 145-hp mild-hybrid powertrain. The planned range also includes gasoline and battery-electric versions, plus manual or automatic transmissions depending on the country. FIAT has not yet published the electric version’s battery size, charging rate or certified driving range in its Paris release.
Why the Grizzly matters for FIAT
The launch pushes FIAT back into a larger family-vehicle segment after years in which its European identity was led mainly by small city cars. The company says it has already sold more than one million vehicles worldwide in 2026 and that European sales are up 20 percent year over year. Those are FIAT’s figures, and the release does not supply an independent market-data table.
The Paris display also includes the Multiplina and Multiplay concepts. Multiplay is a 4.45-meter design study that can switch between a six-plus-one-seat family layout and a four-seat pickup-style configuration with an open bed. FIAT explicitly says it is a laboratory for ideas rather than a preview of one confirmed production model.
What shoppers still need to know
The useful numbers released so far are the exterior size, boot capacities and the 145-hp mild-hybrid specification shown in Paris. The important missing details are price, standard safety equipment, towing ratings, electric range and charging performance. Those will determine whether the Grizzly pair can compete on more than packaging.
