Ford’s Q3 Report Shows Maverick Hybrid Growth as Total Sales Fall

Ford’s October 2, 2026 U.S. sales release presents a mixed third quarter: overall volume declined, while Maverick Hybrid sales and Super Duty production reached notable highs. Reading those measures separately gives a clearer picture than the headline of truck momentum alone.
Three measures to keep separate
| Measure | Q3 2026 | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Total vehicle sales | 509,764 | Down 6.6% |
| Maverick Hybrid sales | 27,793 | Up 59.6% |
| Super Duty production | 110,275 | Up 4.4% |
Ford calls the Maverick Hybrid result a third-quarter record and says Super Duty production was its strongest quarter in 19 years. Production is the number built, not the number sold.
Excluding the planned phase-out of Escape and Corsair, Ford estimates retail market share rose 0.4 percentage points to 12.1%. That adjusted estimate should not be substituted for the unadjusted sales decline.
What this means for shopping
For shoppers, a national sales result is context rather than an inventory promise. It does not identify which trim, drivetrain or option combination is available at a nearby dealer, and it does not establish the discount on an individual vehicle.
Request a written quote for the exact configuration and compare it with alternatives serving the same job. A compact hybrid pickup and a heavy-duty truck answer different needs; their strong quarterly numbers are not a reason to treat them as substitutes.
Our truck and SUV specification checklist explains how to narrow that comparison to the vehicle you would actually buy.
