Hyundai Debuts All-New BAYON and 292-PS TUCSON N Line in Paris

Hyundai used the opening day of the Paris Motor Show on October 12, 2026, to introduce the all-new BAYON and expand the new TUCSON range with an N Line version. Both are European-market SUVs, and Hyundai has not announced U.S. availability.

The BAYON grows up without leaving the compact class

The new BAYON is 4,245 mm long and 1,810 mm wide, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Hyundai projects 440 litres of luggage capacity for gasoline versions and 397 litres for the forthcoming hybrid. The cabin can be equipped with two 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Key 2, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.

Initial engines are 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder units rated at 90 PS or 115 PS, paired with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai says a 138-PS hybrid will join the lineup in 2027, combining a 1.6-litre gasoline engine, electric motor and six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its energy-use and performance figures remain subject to final homologation.

Available driver-assistance equipment includes Highway Driving Assist 2, surround-view and blind-spot cameras, forward collision avoidance, lane following assistance and reverse parking collision avoidance. Equipment will vary by trim and market.

TUCSON N Line adds style, not a separate full-N model

The TUCSON N Line receives model-specific bumpers, side skirts, 20-inch wheels, twin exhaust outlets and a darker cabin with suede-and-leather seats, red stitching and metal pedals. The badge should not be confused with Hyundai’s full N performance cars: this version uses the regular TUCSON powertrains with a sportier appearance.

Choices include a 150-PS 48-volt mild-hybrid gasoline model, a 245-PS conventional hybrid and a 292-PS plug-in hybrid. The plug-in uses a 17.1 kWh battery and Hyundai claims up to 67 km, roughly 42 miles, of electric range on the N Line’s 20-inch wheels under the European WLTP cycle. That is not an EPA range figure. Hybrid and plug-in versions are offered with front- or all-wheel drive, depending on configuration.

What buyers should watch

Hyundai has not included prices or market-by-market launch dates in these announcements. Buyers should wait for local specifications because wheel size, safety equipment, powertrains and certification can differ by country. The broader Paris show is producing several electrified SUV announcements; Chiefs Review also covered Kia’s Seltos and K4 hybrid plans.
