Opel brought its Corsa GSE electric hot hatch to the Paris Motor Show on October 12, 2026, pairing a production car already open for orders with the final livery of its GSE 27FE Formula E racer. The display connects the road-car badge with the brand’s coming GEN4 racing program.

A hot hatch with an existing order book

The Paris press kit lists 207 kW for the Corsa GSE and a manufacturer-claimed 0–100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds. Its September 1 ordering announcement set a German recommended price of €39,900 including VAT; that is a German-market reference, not a universal European or U.S. price.

Opel specifies front-wheel drive, a limited-slip differential, a lowered sports chassis and four-piston brakes. The battery is rated at 54 kWh gross and 51 kWh usable, with up to 374 km of WLTP range. The company quotes roughly 27 minutes for 20–80% DC charging, subject to charger and battery conditions.

These figures describe the manufacturer’s published specification. Chiefs Review has not independently tested acceleration, range, braking or handling.

GSE performance and GSE styling differ

The stand also introduces Astra GSE Line, a trim intended to offer GSE styling with different powertrain choices. Buyers should distinguish that equipment line from the Corsa GSE’s performance hardware rather than assuming the badge guarantees the same drivetrain.

Opel’s GSE 27FE racing car is a separate GEN4 Formula E machine, shown in its final championship design. The Paris kit quotes more than 800 hp for the racer. That race-car figure does not describe the Corsa or predict its road performance.

What shoppers still need to check

Local prices, standard equipment and delivery timing require market-specific confirmation. The show debut is not a fresh opening of the Corsa order book, which Opel announced in September. For another electric performance approach, see our report on the Lancia Gamma HF Integrale.
