Porsche Plans Wireless Smartphone Retrofit for U.S. Modern Classics in 2027

Porsche’s September 29, 2026 U.S. announcement gives owners of selected older sports cars a new route to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The latest Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus units are expected at U.S. Porsche Centers in early 2027.
Match the system to the generation
Two versions cover the 997.2 and 987.2 generations from model years 2009–2013, and the 991.1 and 981 generations from 2012–2016. A model-year match alone is insufficient; the correct vehicle generation and specification matter.
Porsche lists a seven-inch touchscreen, vehicle-setting integration and over-the-air map updates. Equipment-dependent functions include steering-wheel control and information in the instrument cluster. Some services require an internet connection.
U.S. pricing is due closer to launch. The global release describes worldwide availability, but the U.S. announcement supplies the relevant early-2027 timing for American owners.
The useful questions for an installer
Request a written compatibility check for your VIN, a complete installed price and an explanation of which original functions remain available. Ask separately about data-service costs and future map support. Those questions make it easier to compare retaining the existing system with paying for a retrofit.
For enthusiasts who want to keep a familiar cabin while adding current phone integration, the fit and retained controls will matter as much as the feature list. Chiefs Review has not installed or tested these units.
