Geely Establishes Canadian Operation Ahead of 2027 Vehicle Launch

Geely Auto has established a Canadian operation and says its first vehicles will reach Canadian consumers in 2027. The company announced the move on October 9, but it has not yet identified the launch models, prices or first dealership locations.
A local team comes before the cars
Geely says a Canadian team is now in place and is developing retail and service operations ahead of the commercial launch. The company plans to work with local partners to build a dealer and support network rather than begin with vehicle sales alone.
That sequence matters for a new market entrant. Parts supply, warranty administration, technician training and convenient service locations can shape ownership just as much as a vehicle’s specifications. Geely says additional information about retailers, pricing and availability will be released as the 2027 launch approaches.
The first Canadian lineup is still unconfirmed
The launch announcement refers to Geely’s global strengths in safety, electrification and connected technology, but it does not name the vehicles selected for Canada. Images supplied with the release show a selection from the company’s global portfolio; they should not be read as confirmation that every pictured model will be sold there.
Geely Auto Group reported 3,024,567 global vehicle sales in 2025, including 1,687,767 new-energy vehicles. Those figures cover the wider group and do not forecast Canadian volume. The company currently sells vehicles in more than 100 countries and regions.
Why the Canada move is notable
Geely’s mainstream brand joins a growing group of Chinese automakers preparing to compete more directly in Canada. The launch creates a new route into North America, but the company made no U.S. sales announcement and did not provide import, production or tariff details in this release.
For Canadian shoppers, the important questions remain straightforward: which models are coming, where they will be built, how they will be priced and how broad the service network will be at launch. Those answers will determine whether Geely arrives as a niche entrant or a larger-volume alternative.
The move also reflects a wider expansion by newer global brands. Chiefs Review recently reported on Leapmotor’s planned B03 and D19 European debuts and Porsche’s latest global delivery results.
